yeah that was useful, thanks!
His Vid just shows how good mojo is, I've watched this about 3 times and still have difficulty following what he's doing

does anybody have some tunes ( or helpfully hints even) for doing stuff in open tunings ( pref D or G ) or with a bottleneck? Aslo, I've retuned my freshman to open G , how to i work out what frets to use and what chords they are? ( I've never been able to understand a word of musical theory...)

LoL @ "the dreaded F"
I think its worth remembering that it is mostly muscle memory, as you keep practicing you end up thinking "G" and your fingers will do it for you. It must have been 3 months before I could get any sound that didn't sound totally dreadful.

Got over 2 inches here last night, my driving lesson was cancelled today , though it's quite warm today and you can feel the ice cracking underfoot.

We've had some light snow today, I'm stuck between wanting a big snow ( so i can build a snowman or igloo) and wanting the snow to go ( I've spent £150 on driving lessons for next week, my test is on the 12th )

I have the same trouble with Barre Chords, I just avoid them. Not a very good approach to learning I know. Sooner or later I'm going to have to bite the bullet. I think its probably less hard than it seems, but it's so frustrating not being able to play these things when so many other chords now seem easy. So you just end up not practicing in favour of doing a few songs with chords you can already do.

Back to the guitar. On new years eve we had some other parents from our kids school round, one of the other dads is left handed and just starting his mid-life crisis, so I gave the guitar to him, hopefully it'll be loved ( I'm going to give him my broken marshall too - he should be able to fix it up).
I'm not sure his wife will thank me though.

I've heard they are Scottish, but can't confirm, but they are British, and manufacture their guitars here in the UK. Without namedropping, I know a couple of famous folkes who also own them ( though they are not famous for their music lol ) @ mohikanas , 'Fraid I couldn't comment on any of those guitars, pick them up and play them to see which you like best ;P
