AS mentioned in my guitar pics thread. I've got a westfield 'strat' type left handed guitar thats been sitting unused for a couple of years now ( I've tried giving it away to ppl who might use it, but no-one would take it ). I'll take some pics as and when I get the chance, to help describe my process and help with any questions I may have. goals: 1.remove/replace ( or just turn round) the nut 2. restring 3. assuming I get the guitar to work at that point I will look at replacing/ re-orientating the pickups I've replaced the nut on my old acoustic guitar, and that was just the case of using a stanley knife to free the sides of the nut from the neck and a pair of pliers to pull it free. I'd then turn it round and glue it back in place. I've had a look at it and it seems as though there should not be a problem with the shape of the nut itself, but I thought it best to at least ask someone who knows what they are doing first

I'd get a Tusq nut - cheap on ebay - and have a luthier install it to match the rest of the set up of the guitar...

Back to the guitar. On new years eve we had some other parents from our kids school round, one of the other dads is left handed and just starting his mid-life crisis, so I gave the guitar to him, hopefully it'll be loved ( I'm going to give him my broken marshall too - he should be able to fix it up).
I'm not sure his wife will thank me though.
