RK's question of do you play everyday got me thinking. A lot of you guys are very experienced players and I would love to hear some of your practice routines. Do you have set schedules you stick to? so much time finger picking, so much flat picking, etc, or do most of you play what your in the mood for?

Everyday, when you are old and senile like me I am afraid I will forget what a guitar is. I'm with you on that. At my advanced age, if I didn'y play everyday I would have to relearn everything all the time! ;D I try to get in at least an hour of practice every day and probably get another hour at night just fooling around with songs I already know.

Great find HJ! Thanks for the link. Now I'll need more practice time to fool with this new toy.

Hey Sonny, I got the same advice 33 years ago. Great advice. Work on technique so that you are never limited to only the portion of your musical ideas that you can actually pull off. RK, That's such a cool line. One of the most frustrating things about the guitar for me is getting the music in my head to come out my fingers. I would be interested in your thoughts on ear training.

thanks for putting that link up jay that is exactly the sort of thing im after You're welcome, it is a beautiful guitar. A bit more money then you want to spend, especially when you factor in shipping. The seller had it on special a couple of weeks ago for 1300. US Always worth an email to see if you can get a deal. Be sure to let us know what you end up with.

No not just you Mojo, esp that first bend in the solo sounded like he didn't quite hit the note, adjusted it, then released it badly. On the one hand it happens, but on the other how many times has he played the song. Fresh strings will give out on you sometimes, but I'm sure he has a more than capable guitar tech?[/quote]
I read somewhere that Clapton still practices his bending regularly. If it's important enough for EC then we all better keep at it. ;D

I'm going to check this amp out at Guitar Center. I've been wanting a small tube amp for around the house and with a headphone jack this might be the one.

I've always loved those old, Cream/ Bluebreakers days, with that Gibson sound. Thanks for posting this! I wonder if this is the red ES-335 EC donated for charity. Christies got 950K (US) for it.

Thanks gasman, the AC30 is the one I'm looking at too. If it's as good as you say, I think the metal one for my grandson will be on his Christmas list too.

Hi guys, Does anyone have experience with the Vox Ampplug? I'm thinking it might be fun for late night practice. Wondering how they sound?

The pastor asked if anyone in the congregation would like to express praise for answered prayers. Suzie Smith stood and walked to the podium. She said, "I have a praise. Two months ago, my husband, Tom, had a terrible bicycle wreck and his scrotum was completely crushed. The pain was excruciating and the doctors didn't know if they could help him." You could hear a muffled gasp from the men in the congregation as they imagine the pain that poor Tom must have experienced. "Tom was unable to hold me or the children," she went on, "and every move caused him terrible pain." We prayed as the doctors performed a delicate operation, and it turned out they were able to piece together the crushed remnants of Tom's scrotum, and wrap wire around it to hold it in place." Again, the men in the congregation cringed and squirmed uncomfortably as they imagined the horrible surgery performed on Tom. "Now," she announced in a quivering voice, "thank the Lord, Tom is out of the hospital and the doctors say that with time, his scrotum should recover completely." All the men sighed with unified relief. The pastor rose and tentatively asked if anyone else had something to say. A man stood up and walked slowly to the podium. He said, "I'm Tom Smith." The entire congregation held its breath. "I just want to tell my wife the word is sternum."
