Cool Mohi, are the humbuckers splitable?? There's got to be tons of different tones in there. Have fun and post up a few licks soon!

RK, that board of yours twists my mind a little . I don't think I could run that thing. I have enough trouble with keeping six strings under control. You'll find that jazz chord substitutions will keep you busy I'm working on easier subs and find there's not enough practice time available. I would love to hear a few of your ideas, hint hint, post a clip when you can.

Hey RK, been a while. sorry about the pedals, but if you get into jazz you won't need 'em anyway. I've always loved jazz, but it's a bitch to learn, (ask me how I know!) If you get a chance I put a tune up on the "whats on the decks?" thread of Hank Mobley. Give it a listen and let me know how you like him. Keep us posted on what you're working on. I would love to hear how you are going to integrate jazz licks into your music.

I gotta learn to read. The first time I looked at this thread, I thought it said Christmas Gretsch. I thought you got a new guitar. Boy, do I feel like an idiot.

Hubert was there at the beginning of the "Chicago Blues" sound. I only saw him once but still hear him in my head. RIP

Front row for Saturday's Duke Robillard show here. If you get a chance, check out some of his videos. He's a great lead player, singer, songwriter of course, but the biggest thing I took away was his wonderful comping style when it was the piano's turn to solo. So Freddie Greene, simple, solid, right in the pocket every time. I've gotta work harder on this skill.

Cool stuff RK, but I can't find the link to the sound clips. Maybe my laptop is acting up.

Good tune, Phil, and the apple jam sounds like a great way to spend a saturday too. Have a ball! I also watched the Ibanez vid. Real nice axe. Love the look of the wood grain. I just joined you on this part of the journey having just received my Ibanez Artstar AS-120. It's a '96 made by Cort in Korea. Beautiful transparent red , super 58's and tons of tone. You're going to love that guitar.

If you practice near a computer or have a laptop you could take into the room with you it would be easiest just to download a free one and to play it through the computer's speakers. Can't beat getting something for free! WOW!, you are right as rain, colchar. I found a good metronome on line and it's free! Thanks for the idea. I saved enough to buy three new sets of strings.

Hi guys, my old Seth Thomas metronome finally gave up and I need a new one. There are lots of digital ones out there. Does anybody have a recommendation? I know it's no big deal but I'm a cheap bastard and want the most bang for my buck. ;D Thanks
