I'd recommend a song with which you are already very comfortable. And I'd recommend not worrying about it. Just play w/ the things on like it's nobody's business. Within an hour, you'll know how it'll work out. Also I'd recommend turning on the TV and playing while you watch. it'll take your conscious self out of the equation and your fingers will find their way. Love the TV tip Mojo. I use it for ear training too. I sit and play with the commercials, and musicians on shows. Amazing what you can pick up.

I'll throw my .02 in here. I found a get pick on the net called V-pick. They are make of a clear material that actually will stick to your fingers after a short time playing. I can hold they very loosely and have never had one slip.

Missed Mojo's lesson the first time around, thanks for the post. He does make it a bit more understandable.

That Santa is one cool dude. He brought my grandson a new Epiphone Valve Jr amp and we both love it. I think I'll have to get one when he takes his back to California. Oh great, Christmas GAS!

Hey Mojo, I love your version of Tears that you played on the Malencon review. I know it might take a few video's to do it justice and it's a bit more that three chords. How about it? ;D

The body looks like my oak floor! Not the best looking guitar in the world - reminds me of a girl I went out with years ago Nothing up top but a big arse ;D Must have been a strange looking girl if she had a big arse up top! Turn her over! ;D

Thanks for putting that up Rob. I'm felling reallllllly old now. Back in high school, we'd go to old town and his band would be playing in one of the clubs. I was too young to get in but could stand outside and listen to him and Mike Bloomfield for hours. Great memories.

My love for the RC strat is mostly centered around three points: 1. The price is right considering that most of the equipment is US-made, and the pickups are developed by the custom shop 2. The neck is a thing of beauty 3. It's a hard tail Hey Mojo, funny you should mention the RC Strat as I'm watching one on Ebay right now. I'm assuming from your #2 point that the "61 C shape neck is pretty chuncky?

This may surprise many of you, but my quest for tone is done. Not that I won't be adding more gear, but technically, I have found my holy grails.
Electric:
Thorn Jr 90 or Lentz T into Swart AST amp. Pure perfection for the tones I love.
Acoustic:
Tom Anderson Crowdster into Bose L1.
I am a happy and lucky guy.[/quote]
So, a few new vids would be appreciated! ;D

I'm experiencing a similar problem Rob. I now play an old Cort LP copy that has a pretty beefy C shaped neck and I really love it. Especially compared to the new thin necks on many newer guitars. I want to try a Baja Tele with the V neck but nobody carries one in stock around here and I refuse to spend $800 on the interweb without trying it out first.

Still got it, a S. Yairi acoustic I bought back in college in the mid 70's. Someday I'll give it to my grandson, but not yet!
