Hey up what's this then? Hmmm could it be a G&L? Wow it is! It is actually a USA Custom Shop G&L ASAT Classic And she is so beautifully put together Looks much nicer in the flesh with a lovely grain to the wood and a really nice satin finish pale neck and fingerboard Fret work is PLEKed so the playability is superb The pick ups are G&L MFDs and are hotter and sweeter then a normal telecaster single coil. Still very defined but with more midrange - think almost P90 With her sisters - she isn't the prettiest but she is a player. Sorry for the crappy Photos but I dropped my camera in the sea (don't ask!) and Mrs Jack won't let me have a new one These G&L guitars are superb both the Idonesian Tribute range and the USA made - and they shouldn't be compared to Fender as they are a guitar on their own as far as I am concerned

envy envy ENVY !!!!! I want my S-500 where is it??? waa! The ASATs are a very nice range in general. I'm quickly became a fan of the MFD pickups too. More solid guitars than your house (well my house anyway). She may be plain, but she's a blonde and I always have had a soft spot for blondes And yeah if you don't have the bucks there is NOTHING wrong with the Tribute range. Certainly beat the Squiers in bang for buck.

Certainly beat the Squiers in bang for buck. Never mind Squiers - I actually think the Tributes give the MIM Fenders a kicking and to be honest they are as good as a USA Standard Fender I reckon. I must admit the Tribute range is where I would steer anyone for a midrange guitar if they were looking at a tele / strat type - especially so a strat type cos the the single coils on the Legacy are more Fender than Leo! The Tributes are fantastic build quality and as you say built like a house - totally solid - the USA guitars are the same but with better door handles, oak floors throughout, a hot tub and a heated pool ;D I think the MFDs are superb pick ups and a great compromise between single coils and humbuckers. I wasn't so sure at first but using tone and volume on your guitar you can pretty much tele twang but also a whole lot more as well The quality of the USA guitars is just that bit more special. The acoustic resonance of mine is just fantastic The only problem with them is the woeful secondhand values - which would be good if you ever saw any second hand - they arec as rare as a nun in a bikini in the UK

Found G&L had some trouble with some parts on the S-500 I'd ordered. Proguitarshop is getting back to me with an ETA... good thing I'm not in a hurry
