Wully - What's up Brother, long time no see! Work! Chopping logs, You name it... But I wish I had been playing every day 'cos now I'm back to sore fingers and if I don't put this guitar down I'm going to be bleeding instead of just blistered...just a few minutes more and then I'll stop ;D

You got me RK ;D Every day if I can - serious practice mainly because I am spectacularly rubbish at playing guitar so I need to In the winter I can just about do it but in the summer not a chance I also tend to get very wraped up in what I am playing at the time and forget everything else I have learnt Just about sums it up for me too...been FAR to busy lately, it was much more fun when I wasn't working...

Hi Wully good to see you again. How is the job? It certainly seems to be keeping you busy. Toooo busy! I definately prefered sitting around all day with nothing much to do except amuse myself trying to play. But....I want my toys

Today is the first time in weeks I've had the time to pick up my guitar and now I have a pleasant burning feeling in the finger tips of my left hand and a slight ringing in my ears ;D
Driving home last night listening to CCR was the spur to get on with it ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Gonna get me a loop station for early x-mas prezzie.

I'm still here!!!
Thanks for the birthday wishes.
Been a busy wee while of late with a new job or two- I've been working away from home during the week which was great for practicing with my Gee-tar of an evening with the added benifit of keeping me out the pub and the Pocket Pod I treated myself to is a great new toy ;D
But the past couple of weeks have been guitar-less as I have a dead car and the Tele won't fit on the bike too well....
New car next week ;D ;D ;D ;D
(then a loop station......)

Never thought of turning my scotch drinking into my hobbie. Wully that is brilliant. Works for me ;D (Tonight is the turn of a 25 year old Springbank. Sweet and delicious....)

I've been outside a lot since the weather has been so good, not really played much but still manage to pick up the guitar for the odd few minutes- it sits on the stand just asking to be picked up... I've been doing a lot of work outside and find that my hands are really stiff afterwards so I find it harder to play than normal.... Need more practice and less work.

I went to the Inverary whisky shop last week........DANGEROUS place. My plastic is still limp and my liver is slowly recovering.......
Hey- you've got to have a hobby, haven't you?
(Although I am a big whisky fan I am sipping some fine Jamaican vatted rum just now which is delicious....)

I'm reading this really good book just now called 'Outliers' basically about success. One part of it states that to be really good at something- anything- be it golf, playing a musical instument or whatever is going to take 10,000 hours of practice. That works out at over 5 years of full on 37.5 hour weeks... So I know I'm never going to be really good at playing my guitar.
I do know that no matter how (relatively) good I get, I'm going to enjoy getting there.
I feel my Tele calling....

Hmmm, lots of things to consider here... I fear for my wallet. I wish I'd found this forum before I started buying gear.
I spent my money ( a lot more than I should have..) on my guitar and bought a Roland Cube 30 as it got a good write up.. I hardly mess around with the settings on it now I've found a sound I like and to be honest don't give the amp a lot of thought.
(I do still get a big, pleasant kick every single time I pick up my guitar so I know that was money well spent. )
Once I get myself to a decent level with my playing - not anytime soon- I will treat myself to a better amp but next on the gear list is a loop station...

I made the trade. Picked up a 62 reissue Tele with Lace Sensors in trade for a Strat. Sounds great. Congrats! Health to play it. (I love my Tele )
