I made the trade. Picked up a 62 reissue Tele with Lace Sensors in trade for a Strat. Sounds great. The 7 1/4 radius and vintage frets may take a bit of getting used to though. This post in no way should be taken to mean that I do not now love Strats or that Les should gloat in any measure. ;D
I just needed a tele man.

Hope you don't go through Strat withdrawal Roadking. Have you looked up to find your local teli support group? Just kidding. I am in the middle of making my first teli.

Bad cell phone shots, but here she is. Lots of upgrades. Bone nut, orange drop cap, cloth wiring, Lace sensor in bridge and dually in the neck, compensated brass saddles. May have to get some medium jumbos put in that neck though. Those vintage frets are not my style at all. And maybe some Gotoh tuners.

Very Nice! I agree with Jay, a black pickguard would make it stand out more.

Well I did see the Stratocaster concert again on television today and the Joe Walsh songs were just about the embodiment of the "perfect " guitar tone. But....I really do like this Tele. I spent the afternoon polishing frets, setting neck relief, action, and intonation. Must admit the 3 saddle thing is a bit inconvenient, but the twangability factor is off the charts with that setup. Tonight I'll look for the black pickguard on the net. I'll try and get a few clips up asap. PS. .......shut up Les.
