Hey Les, you're welcome! I was hoping I wasn't the only one that didn't know. The most I've done to a guitar is adjust the pickup height. That sounds simple enough, but on my Tele-style guitar, that meant removing the pickguard to access the adjusting screws. That, in turn, meant loosening the neck to be able to remove the pickguard! Suffice it to say, it was a pain! I admire RK and Phil for being able to build/put together a guitar like they do! Oh, and RK, thanks for the translation! I had to read through it a couple of times and find a picture of an un-installed bridge pickup to completely undertand what went wrong. I do understand one thing perfectly clear from the get-go: I will NEVER even ATTEMPT to put together a guitar...I'll stick to the 'already made' kind ;D!

But now you are experienced. I'll bet you will never make the same mistake twice. So that is one less thing you can screw up next time. It does get easier each time you do it.

Got her put back together tonight. The pickups absolutely kill. I love the tones I get with the 4 way and the faux treble bleed mod too. Here are a couple of before and after shots. Before (as I bought it) After I have dubbed her the "BR549" Tomorrow we get to do another setup and see if it needs a fret level. So far I like it much better. More of a classic Tele.

Thanks Les, I took it to rehearsal tonight and it performed admirably. The pickups are exceptional, with the most clear bell like tone of any I've ever tried. I picked up a Sparkle Drive by Voodoo Labs the other day and they paired up really nicely. The 4 way made it easy to find a tone for all occasions too. Once I get the frets leveled and do a new setup I believe she could be my new #1. The other guitarists in our band really loved it as well. I do think I need a proper name for the new gal. Maybe you guys could help me come up with one. The serial number will be BR549 from Hee Haw fame. I want to put the name on the front of the headstock with a waterslide. Something I could make look Fender-ish in logo form with the smaller block style lettering below. I don't know. What do ya'll think?

What an amazing transformation RK! Great work! As for a name, I have no idea. I usually name my guitars based on the time of year I purchased them. For example, I purchased my Epi Dot around Easter last year, so I named her 'Lilly', for an Easter Lilly. Anyway, just a thought.
We need some sound clips now!

I thought about some sound clips as well but I'm not sure how to do them. How do you guys post them?

You need to use a hosting site like photobucket except for sounclips. Upload your clips then link to them from the forum. I can't remember the one I use. I can have look for it tomorrow if you like.

Thanks Les, The guitar (until a proper name can be decided on I'll just call it that), is at the shop getting a fret level but I should have it back on Weds. I'll post some clips asap.....just no giggling while I play.

I was just kidding, but there is a part of me that might be a little nervous doing something like that.
