6 on average. If I am out with friends in Milwaukee - I might end up with 9 but I don't know if passed out = sleep....
I'm getting too old for that (32) so it happens rarely...

Thanks - I was just thinking that if I had to wire the thing anyway, why not do the 4 way and have the ability to do all of them if I so chose.

For those that have played with the 4 way switch mod on their Tele's - what do you prefer? Any reason NOT to do a 4 way?

Clapton, SRV, Albert Collins, Jimmie Vaughan, John Lee Hooker for guitarists.

Just got an email from them. My pick-ups and what I assume is my body are on the UPS truck. They told me 3 weeks for the body. Wonder what's going on there.....

I ordered both a body from Warmoth and a set of Fralin Blues Specials. I feel like I'm 10 and Christmas is tomorrow...

For you UK guys - ever played with any pick ups from Bare Knuckle?

I've been kicking around the idea of the Fralin Blues Specials (set), or the Seymour STL-1/STR-1 Vintage '54.

Pretty basic really.
What are you playing and how did you arrive at that choice? What's it give you - sound wise?
I find it interesting to lean how other people find what works for them. It's often led me to new and interesting things, I'd not thought of otherwise.
(plus with a partscaster build looming - I need some ideas ;D )

Awesome - I'll look forward to it.
Am thinking on ordering a tele body from Warmoth on Monday. 175 bucks - can't beat that with a stick.

I think it's self depreciating activity. SRV always said he wasn't the best guitarist in the house, much less on of the greatest that ever lived.
Couple be a humility thing for some guys.

Ha!
At this point - I don't know what I'll do exactly. I don't have the cake to just go buy a 50's Road worn or a 52 hot rod (another one I love the sound of) and could see myself just getting little bits of kit here and there and then putting it together.
Part of it is I really want to point to it and say "I flipping built that - I don't care what you say, I built it, taught myself how to play and now I am happy". The other 1/2 says just buy a reg tele and learn and be done.
It's hard because the only real definite is I want a tele, I want to play the blues and maybe if I got really drunk - put together a little combo to mess about in.
Combine my intense desire to do this with my recent Paul Butterfield Blues Band album purchase (listened to it for 8 hours today at work) and I've gotten fired up.

Wow- thanks for the reading. I had not heard of that. I guess it would be easier to start with a fresh body were I to be really jonesing for the look.
Most likely I'll still get a reg Tele and mess about with the pickups and the like and then go from there. No sense jumping into a guitar build from scratch early...
Thanks again.

I guess I should introduce myself - seeing as I have a thread hung out there....
Come from Green Bay, WI. I've owned 4 guitars but played none of them. (well messed around - I wasn't serious and couldn't do much)
I've decided that I really want to do this again, learn again etc. Found Mojo on the youtube and really dig his style. It's helped a lot and I think I'll be spending more and more time with him (as creepy as that sounds)
Musically I love the blues and irish folk/punk.
Thanks for the great site.

Thanks. The more I look, I am thinking it might be cheaper for me to buy a reg Tele for under 400.00 and modify it as I see fit. (That Warmoth site will make a man go blind)
I love the sound Mojo gets out of the TDL flame tele he has. Fralin blues set of pick ups. IIRC
