The answer to your problem is easy, go fretless. I agree with everyone else, Strings- possible, pressure on the strings- very likely, not centering your strings when pushed down- very likely. and the action may be set a little too high. I had a guitar with similar problems ( open cords were off some) and my lutheir adjusted the nut and that fixed my problems. But with basses you probably can't hear the difference. Phil

Thanks Happy Jack, I am the one holding that 1962 Strat in the back. Time changes many thing things and I'm not as pretty as I use to be. Phil

Pod X3 live, seems to have everything plus the kitchen sink. I play in church and run every thing through the PA so the amp/cabs and effects all in one units really works well. It does take some time to get things just like you want. Phil

I have a Boss loop station that I use all the time but I like Happy Jacks suggestion. I have the new DR-01 that I use for many different things and find their equipment to be good. Just have to be carefull about being too rough with them. They are not built for the stage like the looper. Playing the drums /metrodome really makes you a better player with these toys. Phil

I forgot to add. I have always had rosewood necks in the past but my last Strat has the maple neck and I just love it. Phil
