Chuck Berry when I was younger, but Stevie Ray Vaughan made me want to learn to play.

My 'go to' amp is my only amp at the moment. A Fender Champ 600. I had a solid state amp, but I traded it in towards the purchase of my Tradition Tele. I also use my Vox AC30 AmPlug as a regular amp sometimes. I hook it up to my old boom box using the 'line in' option. It sounds pretty good, but my Fender is where it's at right now!

Just wanted to say Thanks for such a great site and for helping me with the guitar. I am a beginner at an older age but have loved music and guitar forever and decided to finally give it a go. I have learned some of the basic chords and am struggling along with trying to get the chord changes quickly enough to sound like a song. I'm still hammering away at a few of your 3 chord songs but am still slow. I will keep trying. I really like your funny and casual approach and always feel great watching your videos. They have really helped me stay interested during the beginners frustrating times. Look forward to watching and learning more. Thanks again!! Welcome Jacks14! The more the merrier!

Too bad you weren't able to buy it! It looked really nice! The upside is, there will be another one out there at some point. Just keep looking!

Welcome to the forum! Yes, the Champ 600 is a champ! I have one and I love it! My friend, who used to be a gigging musician many years ago, was very impressed with it when he played his guitar and my guitars through it a few days ago.

I finally was able to see your B.B. King, Chuck Berry, and one of your Peter Green videos. You're doing great! I really like your tone! Are you using your new Vox amp? I have to hand it to you for doing the whole video thing. If I ever post anything of mine on here, it will just be soundclips. I don't have the guts to make a full video! Thanks for the Karma man! ;D

The last CD I bought was one by Los Lonely Boys. I had never really gotten into their music until now. Henry Garza is an amazing player! I posted a video of them playing their song 'My Way' on here. I also love their version of 'I Walk the Line' and their song 'Texican Style'.

I own own and older model Digitech rp300a digital modeling pedal, but to be honest I am so busy just learning to play that I don't even bother to use it. I will worry about getting the right effect sound after I have figured out the basics a bit more. I'm with you on this. When I'm learning to play something, I don't care about effects.

I have a friend who has been playing a lot longer than me and whenever he picks up one of my guitars to play it sounds so much better than when I play it. You could swear it was a different guitar and that is without using effects! It would be nice to be able to play as well as him someday. The funny thing is he doesn't rate himself as a guitarist and is always comparing himself against better musicians. I suppose that's how we should all be. I think a lot of non-professional guitarists are a bit modest about their playing and think that they are not as good as the next guy. To me, as long as I am learning something new and having fun at it, I don't compare myself to others, because there will always be someone better than me, regardless of how good I get. Besides, I don't consider myself a 'guitarist'. I'm just a guy that plays his guitars whenever he gets a little time to himself.

I was only able to see three of the clips (my computer has some issues), but I really liked what I saw. Very good!

'Ghost Riders in the Sky'. I learned the instrumental part years ago, and then I forgot it, and then I re-learned it again. The other night, I re-learned it in a different key that would go better with the chord progressions I found on-line. I'm working on putting it all together now. Nothing fancy- more at the campfire, acoustic, strumming style (I'd say 'sing-along style', but I can't sing worth a lick, so I'm trying to make it more so the guitar can convey the song, if you know what I mean!).
