I voted computer based learning because I use all of the options listed in the poll except for the first two. I use a simple version of Music Coach Player for their Chord Miner 100 feature. I also use this website: bettylou.zzruss.com/ to find and listen to the chord progressions for hundreds of popular songs. I also use Audacity to record. It also allows users to play, slow down and loop songs in mp3 format. And of course, I also check out Mojo's videos so he can show me how it's all actually done. You ever use Tuxguitar? tuxguitar.herac.com.ar/It is a tab player you can use Guitarpro tabs an loop, slow down etc - very good and very free! I just glanced at it now. It seems like something I'd like. I'm going to download it and give it a try. I'll let you know how it works for me. Thanks!

G-man what multi effects do you have? I have a Korg AZ3000 and I am pretty impressed on the whole with it I have a Digitech RP50. They make another version of it now, and it's their smallest effects pedal in their line, but I like it.

Happy New Year Les! I'm pretty happy playing with little or no effects right now, but that might change after yesterday. Yesterday, a friend who had played in a band many years ago came to visit. He brought his "Tele" with him to show it to me. It has a Tele neck, Tele pickups, and Tele controls, but the body looks sort of like a Strat...very cool. Looks custom made. Anyway, he is a very good musician. He started playing without effect, then I brought out my multi-effect unit and WOW...the tones he was producing with my presets were amazing! Then he started playing my guitars, and WOW again! I didn't know my guitars could sound like that! I guess I'm not experienced enough to use all of those effects to sound good. Right now, I'm just happy enough to get a chord progression sounding right or to get all of the notes right on a solo (not to mention good bends and flick-offs).

Thanks for the conversion Les! Wow...That's more than a house that I own that I'm wanting to sell this year!

...I was wondering where you all are from? You don't have to be specific if you don't want to. For example, I'll start off by saying that I'm from the western U.S.A. Where are the rest of you from?

I know that's a lot of money, and excuse my ignorance, but how much is that in US dollars?

I voted reverb. I don't use effects that much. I have one distortion pedal and a multi-effects guitar processor. That's all I need for now. Sounds like you use effects more than you think So far, I've only used the multi-effects unit just as a novelty - don't really use it for playing on a regular basis. I've had it for over a year and a half. Maybe I'll should start using it more seriously.

I like the way you two argue back and forth lol! It reminds me of two guys over at the MLP forum that are also from the U.K. I'm pretty sure you're not them...or are you ? Personally, I think both Teles and Strats have their place. Les, if you think Strats are too bright, why don't you try a Fat Strat, you know, H/S/S configuration? Just a thought! BTW, thanks for the great vids Happy Jack!

Really nice guitars. I like the idea of a different guitar for each sound you want. Must try that argument on Mrs Blues. Although she is likely to come back with the quote about the guy who must be a great guitarist as he only has 1 guitar. But still worth a try I think. ;D Thank you Mr. Blues! Based on your Fender Tele, your Hohner, and your Jedson I've seen here, it seems you're well on your way to having a very diverse collection, Les! All you need now is a Strat to complete the 'four basic guitar groups'! Tell Mrs. Blues it's just like the 'four basic food groups', all guitarists need them!

Hey Mojo, thanks for posting in my thread over at MLP. It gave that thread a little bit of new life. I've gotten a few new posts since yours. That place is too big to be close-knit like this one! I like it here better! More laid back and no 'cork sniffing' here!
