Here's a song I wrote entitled Shattered. I wrote it after I discovered my ex was cheating. Dark times, for sure. If you have any thoughts, I'd love to hear them. It's a progressive song, and supposed to be progressive metal, but this happened to be an acoustic concert. soundcloud.com/lessonsthatrock/shattered-livePlease enjoy, and.... Feedback please!!!

I think overall it's ok, but your vocals need to come up an octave. You should always sing in your higher voice instead of your lower voice. Mostly because you can get power out of a higher octave. Often people think they can't sing higher, but it's simply a lack of confidence. I know because I said the same thing for 2 years, and finally I pushed through. I'm not a great singer, but I'm definitely confident.

Here's a soundclip for Wonderwall which I'm putting together with this vocalist I met. We plan on doing some acoustic gigs in the future with 2 guitars, her on vocals, me on background vocals and a cajon for percussion. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!!! soundcloud.com/lessonsthatrock/wonderwall-practice

I recently hooked up with this really cool vocalist and yesterday we jammed out One Of Us by Joan Osbourne.
It's just one guitar and one vocal line for now, but what do you guys think? Any suggestions?

Unfortunately for me, I can count on one hand the number of "real" concerts I've been too. I'm changing a lot of things in my my life for 2011, and this is one of them. I will start seeing more concerts because they're inspiring, because discovering music is my hobby, it's good, clean fun, and definitely helps to culture me more. I eventually want to catch a few operas, some ballets, and some more musicals.

Yeah, I just bought a laptop which is about twice as fast as my desktop, and then I bought a new desktop which is twice as fast as my old desktop. It's nice cause my new HP desktop can go from off to Facebook in 30 seconds. It's a Phenom Quad Core too.
Good stuff!!!

I don't know for sure, but seriously if it sounds iffy, I wouldn't even try it. I'm always a "play it safe" kinda guy when it comes to stuff I can't afford to readily replace.

I'm actually a huge fan of Megadeth - which is around the block from Metallica, and I've never heard (heard of, but not heard) Apocalyptica. Actually at the time I was listening to a lot of Black Dahlia Murder. I think I had just learned Black Valor by BDM so I was def influenced by that song and their style at the time.
Thank you for your compliments!! It means a lot. Really.. =)

I'm going to be going to a couple of concerts in the near future.
Sepultura with Angra in Jan, and All Shall Perish in March. I love doing concerts cause it's a great way to learn about other bands, and of course it's pure energy.
Just thought I would post my happy thoughts with you!!!

Yeah seriously.. how often do you get to hear a professional level band even practice? I like all that kind of behind the scenes stuff. It lets you really understand how human they really are, and that they actually DO make mistakes..

Dude, I reeeeeally want to get into NAMM this year. I jsut wanted to see who else is going and if you're going to the Winter or Summer show.
Also when you go, can you puh-puh-please tell us about it? What's new, what's hot, what's not, etc, etc???
If I can't go, I want to live vicariously through your stories...
