I'm going to be going to a couple of concerts in the near future.
Sepultura with Angra in Jan, and All Shall Perish in March. I love doing concerts cause it's a great way to learn about other bands, and of course it's pure energy.
Just thought I would post my happy thoughts with you!!!

Dude, have a great and safe time. I love the memories I have of the great concerts I caught early on. Van Halen on their first tour, Queen the night before they released Jazz, Frampton on the Comes Alive tour, Dixie Dregs, Robert Plant, Heart, Boston, Rush, Pat Travers, Hagar and on and on and on. Get the idea I could be an old dude? PS. NO HJ and LB, I did not see Robert Johnson live.

I'm always jealous - we tend to get the artists down here when they're old and grey and can't think of anywhere else to go. Joe Cocker and George Thorogood are coming here next year for a joint concert I might go see. Clapton came down here a couple years ago, but could only get tickets for $500 (too rich for me) and he hadn't been here for like 20 years. He did do one winery show, that sold out immediately, where he played jazz stuff. Nobody who was able to go wanted to hear it and wanted all the pop stuff. I would have gone to hear him play chopsticks Roadking so you didn't see Robert Johnson live because he wasn't born yet? Zing! Seriously those sound like some fantastic concerts! Everything you listed sounds good! Reminded me of the Family Guy episode where Peter Frampton gets visited by Death and he says "Are you sure you're not meant to be at Keith Richard's house?"

Believe it or not, I've never been to what you would call a 'real' concert!

RK you know we don't mean it right? Well at least I'm far away unless you have some angry Texan icbm's or something? I've been to see Robert Cray, and Tommy Emmanuel and that's about it. Charlie Musselwhite came over a few years back and I thought at the time "He's a harp player... nah... I wanna see guitarists". If he came back I'd go see him.

Both Charlie Musselwhite and Peter Green made appearances at the Edinburgh Jazz and Blues Festival last August and I missed them!!

Unfortunately for me, I can count on one hand the number of "real" concerts I've been too. I'm changing a lot of things in my my life for 2011, and this is one of them. I will start seeing more concerts because they're inspiring, because discovering music is my hobby, it's good, clean fun, and definitely helps to culture me more. I eventually want to catch a few operas, some ballets, and some more musicals.

Of course brother, I knew it's all in fun. You can't hang out in cyber space with LB and HJ without toughening the hide a bit. ;D Man if you were only going to see two shows your whole life it would be tough to beat those two. I'm a big fan of both those guys.

So I went to the Sepultura show with my girl and bestfriend. It was so sick. Angra was alright, but they were pretty cheesy. I guess power metal although technically proficient, can be quite cheesy. The singer would hold water in his mouth and spit a puff of mist into the air. It gave my girl asco. Sepultura destroyed the stage though. Loud, fast and heavy. Saw some crowd surfing, and a mosh. I was not about to get messed up in that thing.
Super fun times though. They come back to the HOB in San Diego in May so I'm pretty sure I'm going to check that show out.

Sounds like fun! I once went to a club that had a small mosh pit going on. Fun to watch, but I wouldn't get into it either!
