Maybe brighter?
It would look so sweet with that blue quilt maple on that Tom Anderson though - but I am a sucker for maple fret boards ..... I do like my blondes (but don't tell brunette Mrs Jack though!)

Yeah got them on my Strat and based on that had them on my Custom.
I am not sure of any disadvantages of them once they are installed. Older ones were apparently a bit heavy and cumbersome so I have heard.
I would say on a non trem guitar that didn't have them - if the tuning stability was OK I wouldn't change them - however a new build or a new guitar if I had the choice I would want them.
If your guitar stays in tune and given the fact you don't change strings to often I am not sure if you wouldn't be wasting your money.
Basically if your guitar stays in tune and changing strings isn't a problem why bother?

Have them on the strat and love 'em. They are on the Rees Custom as well. Locking tuners are quick and easy for string changes - but in your case MrB I am not sure that matters as you will have to BUY some new strings first You have less wrap or no wrap so this helps with tuning stability Usually of more benefit to guitars fitted with vibrato Oh and nice guitar Les. I must admit the sound clips I heard of it wouldn't make me want to change the pick ups to be honest. I thought it sounded pretty nice and how I would expect a HBG (Hill Billiy Guitar) to sound.

She is here - visually she is stunning, quality is spot on. Wonderful neck. Huge variation of tone
Had a three hour drive through snow today to get home so a bit tired to play her properly but I have just discovered what "plays like butter" means
Photos and sound clips to follow

I found it absurd, as I find absurd most of the "save the planet" stuff I read or hear. The planet is fine. we will be long gone, and the planet will continue to be just fine. We should try and save ourselves, not the dang planet. At last the voice of reason - as I said "If you believe it anyway" I personally don't so I am keeping my dogs, my 3 liter Subaru and farting - last report I read it was cows farting that was doing all the damage The planet is just going through it's cycles

I won't be getting rid of my dogs and as far as I am concerned the pleasure and companionship they give far out weigh any effects on climate change - if you believe in it any way Anyone who uses a title " time to eat the dog.." in a book title is being upsetting and offensive to dog owners - and as far as I am concerned their credibility has gone My dogs are main hobby www.highlanedtc.co.uk I thought it was because are a tight Scots Bugger ;D

What about, for example, getting the neck adjustment right for the action, intonation etc, isn't that complicated to do? No MrB that is really just setting up which I am pretty comfortable with - and something you need to learn if you do what you are thinking of doing Buy a cheapo from Ebay and have a play as Mojo says loads of info in books and on the 'net
