Well MFD's themselves are a G&L thing. I'm not aware of anybody copying the idea. Yes I thought as much - never seeing them anywhere else

humbuckers keep tricking me, it's annoying. In the shop I play around a bit and think cool, then I get home and play for a bit longer and start losing interest. I looked for a while at some humbucker fender tele's that you could coil split, but decided no eventually. I've basically had to swear off them heheh Hahaha me too (he says after playing on a Godin all day and staying on the humbuckers)

Any guitars you haven't played for a while - picked them up and gone F**k me this is nice! I picked up my Godin for the first time in ages and it blew me away it is so different from the guitars I have been playing recently Ebony fingerboard / mahogony neck not maple / maple Big flat gibsonesque fingerboard 16" radius instead of my usual 9.5 / 7.5 Fender / G&L type Big raunchy humbuckers It has a button called a High Definition Revoicer which turns the pick ups from passive to active - gives a dynamic boost apparently I am sure when I pressed it my willy grew 2 inches, my hair 6 inches and my comfy pants turned to spandex - whatever - but it rocked - big time - as we say in the north west of England Try one but wear loose pants if you are going to press the HDR button (to allow for willy growth) Oh a willy is a pecker for those across the water www.godinguitars.com/godinpresssummit.htmlSo what guitars have been awakened in your playing days? - you know the old forgotten ones in the corner....... Les hated my Godin but he has a very small willy and maybe this has something to do with it? ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Hmmm, well had them at practice today. Played them on some songs where I usually use my Strat. In brief... more volume and gain. I could drop back the volume to clean up pretty nicely. The EM-1 has nice sustain now too. very clear sounding across the board. I like em I'll do a sound file when I have some time I considered these in my Schecter but went for the AC2 I have now decided I don't like humbuckers (except for the AC2s on my Schecter and my SDs on my custom and Godin) so I may get some Tonerider P90s and put them on my old Vintage V100 for a laugh

I really like the MFD pick ups.
They are the perfect compromise between power and definition for me.
I feel they have the chime and sparkle of a single coil with the grunt of a humbucker but without the harshness of a single coil while keeping the definition of a single coil
This is shown so well so well in the video
Are G&L the only manufacturer of this type of pick up?

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. Hi Jack still have it, picked up a Yamaha FG720s for £100 off of Gumtree, guy said it had few knocks but that it was not to bad, went had a look, and it was in much better condition than i thought it was going to be, so pretty happy about that, surprised at the weight of it, pretty solid Little guitar, nice slim neck to. No don't work for them lol, just surprised me Good guitars Yamahas for the dosh. I have a Yamaha F310 cheapest guitar in the shop - new strings, a tweak and a saddle shave and it is a great player

Certainly beat the Squiers in bang for buck. Never mind Squiers - I actually think the Tributes give the MIM Fenders a kicking and to be honest they are as good as a USA Standard Fender I reckon. I must admit the Tribute range is where I would steer anyone for a midrange guitar if they were looking at a tele / strat type - especially so a strat type cos the the single coils on the Legacy are more Fender than Leo! The Tributes are fantastic build quality and as you say built like a house - totally solid - the USA guitars are the same but with better door handles, oak floors throughout, a hot tub and a heated pool ;D I think the MFDs are superb pick ups and a great compromise between single coils and humbuckers. I wasn't so sure at first but using tone and volume on your guitar you can pretty much tele twang but also a whole lot more as well The quality of the USA guitars is just that bit more special. The acoustic resonance of mine is just fantastic The only problem with them is the woeful secondhand values - which would be good if you ever saw any second hand - they arec as rare as a nun in a bikini in the UK

Hey up what's this then? Hmmm could it be a G&L? Wow it is! It is actually a USA Custom Shop G&L ASAT Classic And she is so beautifully put together Looks much nicer in the flesh with a lovely grain to the wood and a really nice satin finish pale neck and fingerboard Fret work is PLEKed so the playability is superb The pick ups are G&L MFDs and are hotter and sweeter then a normal telecaster single coil. Still very defined but with more midrange - think almost P90 With her sisters - she isn't the prettiest but she is a player. Sorry for the crappy Photos but I dropped my camera in the sea (don't ask!) and Mrs Jack won't let me have a new one These G&L guitars are superb both the Idonesian Tribute range and the USA made - and they shouldn't be compared to Fender as they are a guitar on their own as far as I am concerned
