With a fender strap tho? hehehe that's a nice guitar Mohi. I had an Ibanez RG370 DX a while back this reminds me of. would have kept it if I hadn't gotten sick of the floating / locking bridge setup. I had a washburn locking bridge guitar and never had any of the issues (Floyd Rose, not Ibanez Edge, I believe is the difference) that I had with the Ibanez. Restring 1 at a time, and lots of patience (that I apparently don't have!) is about all the tips I can give heh.

Have been adding a few more with a super guitar trio one (with the monster Al Di Meola no less) and a Steve Earle. I'm probably the only person I know with at least as many Music DVDs as I have regular ones.

The Zoom R16 looks like a good unit with 8 tracks of input, but lacks the drum machine. I guess if you had a drum machine you could just use an input, and it's significantly cheaper than the boss unit too. The Zoom R24 has a drum machine and is not much more. It looks like you can also do USB / PC stuff if you're so inclined. I'd check one out first to see exactly how easy they are to use, but damn this thing is cheap as chips for what you're getting IMHO. I am always a bit dubious of Zoom gear's sound quality, but lately they seem to have done some good stuff. Check one out if you can.

Designed by a sound engineer. Complicated as heck I use about 5% of what it can do, but it's handy once you get used to it for doing quick recordings, and has a few backing tracks. It can also do pitch correction, you can create backing tracks like a drum machine, and switch between them for verse, chorus etc. Lots of editing options too. But yeah it's all buried in menus and can be a headache to get around especially if you haven't used it in a while. The built in CD writing.... seriously I used it once to test it - they should really remove it you can just output to your PC/laptop and burn if you want. It might have some uses for an on the go musician, but not for me.
It's a good unit for you by yourself (which I was when I bought it) but only 2 simultaneous inputs. Once we got the band going I really wished that I'd paid the bit extra and gotten one of the models up that can actually operate like a full on mixer (the 1600 actually I think is the only one). The 900 isn't on the boss site anymore, looks like only the 1200 and 1600 are current products.
If I was looking for this again tho.... huh.... Well these units are several years old, I got mine over 5 years ago. There must be something better and more user friendly on the market by now. I'd look around.

ok had a lil play last night... why has it taken me so damn long to get a fuzz pedal? Often I've found I've wanted a gritty sound, but not really a distorted sound and fiddling around with drives and gains of various types has never really done what I wanted. Haven't dialed it in yet, but this is right where I was aiming for. I have noticed tho the S-500's pickups are a little too hot for this pedal. At full volume on the guitar it produces an overly fuzzy sound that dies out very quickly to a muffled sound. Backing off the guitars volume a touch seems to sort this out. I'm going to contact Red Witch and see if there's anything unusual going on or what. This may be part and parcel of the pedal being very interactive with your guitars volume which it is, and this is good. But will still check to be safe

soundcloud.com/midnightchef/guess-i-showed-her-robert-crayiPod touch's inbuilt mic. No iRig. Nothing fancy. Recorded onto the voice memo function and emailed to myself (thanks mojo!). I have an iRig and have played around with it a bit. Sounds alright, but I need to fiddle a bit more with it nice for practicing quietly tho. I've gotten a couple of the looping programs to have a play with as well. Will be interesting once I get around to it hehe

Didn't have any time last night but she's all charged. Just wanted to add the button click in is solid and the knobs have a very nice resistance to them. Might even plug in the handwired Ceriatone to demo this one Think that'll be the ticket.

For the 4 I posted together: Vocals would be a Shure C606 (I don't think I used my warfedale KM3), and guitar be a my Dean Resonator CE (with D'addrio electric 9's) mic'd with a Shure PG57. Both clean into my Boss BR900, room's pretty echo-y so don't really need any reverb.

Kinda repeating myself since I've mentioned in 2 other threads But I'm endeavoring to play some of Tommy Emmanuel's style. I know he didn't originate it, but he seems to be the easiest to find lessons on. I've managed to co-ordinate the thumb pretty well which can get a bit weird when changing from a chord shape with the root note on the 5th string like your open C to a shape like the barred F chord / G chord with your root note on the 6th. With your thumb, you're going from a 5th string, 4th, 6th, 4th pattern to a 6th string, 4th, 5th, 4th pattern. Sometimes I can play 3 lead-in notes to the chord change too if I'm feeling really adventurous! I can also use my fingers on the 'chick' to strum or pick the remaining strings, but I'm not to where I can play any sort of melody up there yet, I'm just holding the chord shape. It's hard to co-ordinate but really fun. I can see why Tommy smiles when he plays www.youtube.com/watch?v=aKsJrF0Zi38

That's the whole trick to it honestly. I've tried to sing and play before but kept giving up cos it just wasn't working. I'd usually forget to play in the middle of a song!
Since being on the forum basically, I've really stuck with it; if I'm learning a new song I try to sing it as soon as I can get the chords in my head. If I do something I have to concentrate for - articulate my voice or jump up high, I'll sometimes lose it. But that's 1000% better than where I was.
