Arrived this morning, the tiny Ruby Fuzz with some of my other pedals and a pen for size comparison. Input jacks on the top so you can huddle these lil girls together. Probably not directly side by side due to my boat like feet (I'd easily stomp on 2 at once). Did an unboxing one here too. Really good quality construction, instructions embossed underneath. Really solid pedal. You kinda worry a small pedal will tip over but these are really steady. Will post how she sounds.

I should mention 99.999999% of the time I'm fingerstyle but I experiment on occasion. During my present adventure into a Tommy Emmanuel (on youtube) lead foray into 'boom chick' I have considered trying a Rory Gallagher style flatpick + fingers folk style of play. I've never liked losing the index finger when you do that.

1.14 Gators when I use one. The Tortex are ok, but a bit small for my liking if they're the ones I'm thinking of. I went in once and bought a whole assortment of picks and that was still the most comfortable, along with some weird yellow one of about the same size as the 1.14 Gator but had holes where you grip. I've tried thumb picks and just keep getting hooked up. I'm in the process of trying Alaska picks. I'm finding them good to strum with but hard to 'pluck' back with. technique needs some work

Nothing in the works. Just my usual noodling and recording when the mood takes me Interestingly the singer was starting to feel just pressured by things the same way myself and the drummer were so we've all parted on good terms. Bluestone may still do a gig, but we've just taken the pressure off. We're probably staying listed with the local blues club, if something comes along then we'll give it a bash. It's actually starting to surprise me how often I can actually sing (if you can qualify the noise that comes out of my gob as singing!) and play even some of the more complicated songs I know now. I am attempting some Tommy Emmanuel style of playing to improve my fingerstyle from the basic 'throw random fingers at strings and make noise' style I presently use. I may just start multi track recordings and put stuff out. I'm not sure yet. Post band suggestions? A singer that is just a singer can be very frustrating especially if he doesn't want to sing a song the band plays well, or wants everything fast lol Try to avoid if you can unless they bring something else like a good songwriter or is a *really* fantastic singer (or they're a pretty girl, that would be fine too) Also make sure you're inspired by the guy who is ... I don't know what to call it ... behind you lol The instrument you feed off of. I was reminded at our Xmas jam with my bro what an interesting bass player sounds like. With one of our earlier bass players I played riffs I never have, before or since. I couldn't figure them out even straight after playing them. I can't even describe how this makes you feel and this is the best thing about playing in a band. The whole becoming more than the sum of its parts thing. Even if you're usually a quiet 'just get on with it' kinda guy like me, try to remember to speak up if you're not liking something, you are part of the whole things too that's about it.

After about 2 maybe 2 1/2 years of working with a singer, 2 drummers, various bass players, we have finally thrown in the towel for the band. The singer simply has no more time in his schedule due to work. Hopefully for the best for everybody to move on, bit of a shame for the last bass player who had basically just gotten all up to speed. Anyway onwards and upwards, more time for new things and all that

RK Dunno how Mojo comes up with it, but most of the stuff I do comes out of one or two lines that I think of. I can usually flesh that out to a verse of some kind, then I try and think of where the story would go from there and try and write the next piece. I kind of get an idea in my head of how I want it to sound as I'm going, but my pretty basic knowledge of how chords sound (and general playing ability) lets me down a bit so I usually settle on something simpler that I can play.

haha I'm also considering some of the 7 sisters line. Check these guys out, they are kiwis after all No it's not just because I'd then have some pretty girls to stomp on Partially because I don't think they'd like to be separated, and also becuase they are a great sounding, rechargeable, and compact line of pedals. www.redwitchpedals.com

CTS pots have always been an improvement over the pots I've replaced.... maybe I just haven't heard sliced bread, but never really had any issues with them.

Oh and can you get a nice U2 sound if you combine the 2 delays?

RK had I known about them I'd probably give the Cmatmods super signa drive a go. It does basically the same job as the Ice 9, plus has a boost level control, and the boost button being able to be operated independently without the drive being engaged.

Always like your setup RK. I still bounce around between using almost no FX and throwing the kitchen sink in there. The G&L isn't helping because it's very flexible I tend to want to just change pickups, play with the volume, rather than hit it with the pedals. There's not a bad sound out of that thing. I've dropped the compressor again, using the Ice 9 OD on a very low setting, and dirtying things up differently to how I used to. It's this whole big rollercoaster thing I'm still after a few more modulation effects. Bah!

Wow there's some good company for me lol I'm not a big Beatles fan, but my brother is. Hearing it in my head there's some similar chord sounds, there's only so many you can use

After many good intentions to have a Christmas jam with my bro, and never actually doing one, we had our first. It was lots of fun. I didn't know many of the tunes due to my blues leanings and most of the general mid 1900's pop / country so I was generally blundering behind my older brother trying to follow him. He was on bass and nylon acoustic, I brought my resonator (and should have used my amp with the elec strings, actually shoulda brought my G&L), and we had another rellie who came over who works in the mines in Aussie. He brought an Ashton 12 string. They both easily out volumed me so live and learn. Favourite moments were Robert Cray's - 'I Guess I showed her' that I couldn't stand not knowing properly so I recorded using the one shot ipod method Mojo described to me soundcloud.com/midnightchef/guess-i-showed-her-robert-crayHandy Man - unsurprisingly cos it was another song me and my bro both knew Crying.... Crying... Crrrryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyying.... lol I just followed, but we did alright My brother did a nice version of 'I just can't say goodbye'.... good enough that I now feel the need to learn it absolutely heart wrenching tho that song is, I did used to pinch my old mans hat so I feel a connection there. Hopefully it'll encourage some more collaborative efforts from us two.

It's not the money so much, I don't think my *playing* would ever justify me spending $3000 US on a guitar.... heck I don't think my ears are that finely attuned to notice the difference so much $1250 US has so far been my highest. 3 things on my want to try list, a nice Maton acoustic, a big hollow body archtop like a Casino, and maybe a 12 string. Otherwise I'm very happy with my present stable, just lil tweaks.
