any good videos or practice ideas for getting your thumb independent from your fingers? Just beginning to try this technique and find it VERY difficult, but love the way the old blues guitarists play this style- you know the old delta blues. Guess it just takes alot of practice, looking for some videos to teach me how.

how do you guys record yourselves? i don't mean video, just so you can play your practices back to hear how you REALLY sound.would like to be able to hear it so i can improve on my technique, timing, or whatever i think needs improvement? Preferably something low cost that would do the trick. Thanks guys.

really can't get enough of Jack White lately so the White Stripes are all I've been listening to and trying to play.

They're good but i like the way Jimmy Page plays a telecaster better (the lead to a stairway to heaven for example).

just love learning new riffs and spend alot of time playing them when you get a really cool one. the problem is a week will go by and i totally forget it, i often find myself going back to the video to remember it again.guess you have to put it into a song or make one up where you can use those riffs, otherwise they just fade away. anyone have this problem or is it just me getting old?

ok maybe it's the way I'm asking the question. I found when i was at guitar center trying out BRAND NEW les pauls with NEW STRINGS on them that many frets were out of key-no matter if i pressed as lightly as possible. I'd like to know if you guys could go up the neck on your guitars and let me know if you find frets out of tune also. I guess thats why famous guitarists search for thier prized guitars, maybe to find one where all the frets are in tune.
