I don't want to jinx myself, but I plan to buy something very similar to this from a custom guitar maker that is about 40 miles from me. Hopefully within the next month!

Andy even plays some of Frosty on it, it's so unfair - who told him exactly how to sell to me! One thing I liked about the ASAT special was the satin finish neck, and this is satin also. I'm planning to go out this weekend to grab an od pedal, and probably a guitar - likely that Parker P38 if I can talk him down in price but I'm going to a couple of stores. Even with my guesstimate on shipping this Tele to me, it's a good price for a regular MIM Fender. So this special run version is really calling to me... but I'll have to wait for it to ship here which will be agony! If I don't find anything nice on the weekend, my credit card might get a whack

I've been wanting a USA-made guitar for a while now, and this guitar that I'm eyeing is made right in my back yard, with no middle-man to hike up the price! So...this is the way to go for me! I hope we're both successful in our quest, Rayden!

Thanks Gasman, but looks like mine just got stuck. I was setting up for that nice Tele, and actually looking at a good price on that Vox Ice 9 OD pedal. You know just to see what it would cost me all up so I could stick it in the checkout online. $975 including shipping in New Zealand dollars. To buy a Std Fender MIM ($1099) + Ice 9 ($220) = $1319 (not that I could even get the ash tele here). Pretty mint saving for me. Unfortunately PGS can't ship either Vox or FMIC products overseas..... BAH!
Ok next idea.....

I went out to our local Fender stockist and probably looked like a guitar rapist.... One of the little tests I do is run my fingers on the neck. If my fingers get stuck I move on. After going past several over lacquered Tele's and feeling a bit sad I moved on to the G&L store who has the Parker I was looking at plus is the Vox stockist for my pedal. They were closed, not every Sunday just this particular one. So feeling a bit more bummed I went to the Ibanez / Schecter store (I did mention our crappy music stores only stocking their own brands thus no competition issue didn't I? Several times? OK). Unfortunately they stock almost zero single coil guitars, but I played some nice Maton acoustics, some horrible Ibanez acoustics, and some not bad Yamaha's. But none of their electrics appealed to me so I went away. Oh well might look on my lunchbreak today in a different Fenderland store you never know
