RK's question of do you play everyday got me thinking. A lot of you guys are very experienced players and I would love to hear some of your practice routines. Do you have set schedules you stick to? so much time finger picking, so much flat picking, etc, or do most of you play what your in the mood for?

I spend most of my time working out solo's or chord progressions for my band. But I do spend time each week working on exercises to keep my right hand in shape and scale variations to try to ward off muscle memory licks. I don't spend much time on theory study and that is probably my biggest downfall. All in all I probably average about an hour to two hours a day. Mostly at night when everyone else is gone to sleep.

I'm kind of the opposite. I could read about music theory for days without getting bored. I'm totally entranced by the mathematics of music theory. I love understanding how to name borrowed and secondary dominant chords. It's awesome. I don't really practice guitar much, cause I'm kind of focused on drums at the moment, but hopefully one day I'll swing back around to it.
