I was known as 'Harmonyman' in the old forum because when I signed up, the only guitars I had were my two Harmonys. I then bought an Ibanez Jet King II. Here are my two Harmonys flanking my Jet King: After the forum closed down, I bought my first Epiphone, a MIK ES-335 Dot: I then bought my first Les Paul, a MIK Epi Les Paul Custom: My latest purchase was my first Telecaster, a Tradition CAB10T model. I posted a picture in another thread, but here is a close-up of the body in better lighting:

Nice collection G Man.
Loving the colour of the tele - really nice ;D
I hanker after a sunburst tele but with a maple fingerboard - possibly a thinline

Thank you guys! After I bought my first electric (the strat copy), I always wondered what other types of guitars would sound like. I decided that if I bought any other guitars, they would all be different from each other. I started with the Ibanez and it's coil splitting capabilities, and GAS took off from there! Now I have one of each of the guitars that I like, so if and when I buy another guitar, I don't know what it will be . Hey Happy Jack, maybe a thinline also, those are nice, or maybe a full hollowbody! The bursts are nice, and as you can see, they look different in different lighting.

nice collection, I love the les paul! Thanks! It's in great condition and looks brand new, but it's a 1995 model made in the Unsung Korea plant. I got a great deal on it through Craigslist!

Really nice guitars. I like the idea of a different guitar for each sound you want. Must try that argument on Mrs Blues. Although she is likely to come back with the quote about the guy who must be a great guitarist as he only has 1 guitar. But still worth a try I think. ;D

I'm sure Mrs Blues wouldn't want to think of me as repressed in any way. So i'll be able to use your argument Mojo, hopefully in the near future.

Based on your Fender Tele, your Hohner, and your Jedson I've seen here, it seems you're well on your way to having a very diverse collection, Les! All you need now is a Strat to complete the 'four basic guitar groups'! Tell Mrs. Blues it's just like the 'four basic food groups', all guitarists need them!

I've been telling him that for years - but does he listen ;D ;D ;D Ok! So what makes a Strat so special? When I was looking for my first electric I naturally tried a strat but It definitely sounded too bright, almost "girly" compared to the growl you can get from a good Les Paul type guitar. Or even a "Hill Billy" 335 style guitar. Now I know this could be construed as a controversial post, but what the hell. I'm prepared to listen to reasonable arguments as to why a Strat is an essential part of any guitar collection. Apart from their iconic status and pretty looks. On the sound front isn't a Telecaster close enough to that bright tone (Obviously without being girly at all)? So let's hear it for the Strat. Try to convince a die hard Les Paul/335 player why he should go through the emotional turmoil of persuading Mrs Blues he should buy another guitar, for a Strat. ;D

Telecasters twang - Strats quack. You should by a strat just for the sound on position 4 (which mine stays in nearly all the time) or position 2. Teles have got a bit of a quack but it is more of a cluck than a quack and you don't want cluck when you can have quack or twang. It is quite simple really Turn the tone knob down if it is to bright ;D ;D You just scared of Lady Anne! I will phone her later and use Happy Jacks charm and powers of persuasion ;D Two other reasons - Jimi and Stevie
