I've got a Roland Cube 30 and like it- can't compare it to anything else though.
('cos I've not played through anything else)

I have some Line 6 equipment and have found that the high end stuff is really good and that the entry level is just OK.
Fender always makes good Stuff but may not be as versitile.
I have been a fan of modeling amps for practice for some time, they are just more fun to be able to switch from amp and effects with ease. For recording, tuff to beat a tube amp. I think the Vox might be a good choice but I have not used one yet. Good hunting.

I have a Vox AD30 and it is a nice amp but to my ears the Fender is big step up especially for the cleans and the general dynamics I agree about the tube amp sentiments they are just so nice and much more alive somehow then solid state amps.

The Vox VT30 is a good amp for beginning, excellent to shape your tone. It was my first amp for almost 2 yrs. I'm selling it though because I stepped up to an Eggnater 30w head. The Roland 30 is nice too, can't go wrong with either one.

I have the Vox ac4tv, cab and seperate head. It is a 5 watt tube/valve amp and sounds brilliant. As Happy Jack says valve amps are loud but this baby has a built in attentuator which allows you to step it down to 1 watt or even1/4 watt. So excellent for using at home. It can do descent cleans, maybe not Fender like, and also really good crunch. I also have a vox solid state amp with built in effects and I would say with hindsight buy a valve amp and augment it with effects pedals. That way you have more choice and much more control. In my humble opinion anyway.

Just got me the Vox VT30, thanks alot for the advice guys! Kc Top amp - nice one. You won't be disappointed. It will make that beautiful Fender Stratocaster of yours sound fantastic. Any progress on the Yamaha?

Fender sounds great yes and so many diffrent effects, got to learn the manual first The Yamaha even does a good effort to sound good on it but for a really good sound I need to change the pickups and the main problem is the viarity of choises, seymour duncan, fender tele pickups, etc... didn't know the choise would be that hard. I will post it as soon as I changed them. Kc
