No, I didn't finally get around to making sound clips...not yet anyway! I've been busy this week trying to get a job after five years of retirement... ANYWAY... A while back, I bought the DVD "School of Rock". My 6-year old son has watched it several times with me and he really likes it. One of his favorite scenes is when Jack Black's character is taking the kids back to school from the audition and they show a shot of a skull bobble head with a Led Zeppelin song playing in the background. Now, I have never been a Led Zeppelin fan (yeah, I know...Boo on me!), so I didn't even know the name of the song, but I knew it was a Led Zeppelin song. I had to check out the credits at the end of the movie to find out the song was "Immigrant Song". Once I found that out, I looked it up on YouTube for my son so he could hear the whole song. Now, he is hooked on that song, and knows most of the lyrics by heart! He got so into it, that I told him I would buy a Led Zeppelin CD so he could listen to it. Well, a few days ago, I bought my first ever Led Zeppelin CD: Mothership! I was surprised to find out that I have actually liked a lot of Led Zeppelin's music all along. I would hear several of these songs on the radio, but I just never paid enough attention to realize that Led Zeppelin was the band behind these songs, and I never became a fan of the band. There are certain songs I still can't get into, but overall, I can say I am becoming a Led Zeppelin fan, thanks to my 6-year old son!

Congrats Gman. I guess I came by the other door. It took me until a year or two ago to become a country music fan. Immigrant Song is a rite of passage for garage bands in my day. I played that song all the way up to the first couple of years in bars. Now we find ourselves even more alike. Maybe I should get some goats. I never did like yard work. ;D

I can just imagine you belting out that intro. to 'Immigrant Song' in a Robert Plant-like way! ;D One piece of advice on goats: Be sure your vehicles are in the garage!

Led Zeppelin is the Mothers Milk for all of us old Hippies that thought we were sophisticated and refined.
