OK man, the bungalow bill page was a sucker punch right in my GAS bucket. Too much cool stuff to believe.

Why do I always get distracted and forget to hit post! Yeah he's one of the few good used guitar stores around here - most are like museums - they have stuff, but nothing you can actually play or afford. I'll have to pay him a visit, a lot of his website stuff has been sold.
He also has a Cropper Classic I'll have to try out again (after having my G&L experience) but wants pretty high dollars for it, about twice what they're going for in the US.

Hmmm a little disappointed in the Cropper Classic. It's comfortable to play and sustains pretty well. The coil-tapped bridge pickup gives a brighter sound on its own, and a bit of variation when mixed with the neck pup. On it's own it's a good solid Tele, and it might be 5-10% better than mine overall. The dual blade pickups get a fraction muddy, but nothing in the realm of a your usual humbucker. It is a very solid guitar. But there was no "wow" factor at all. Nothing that made me say "oo this is a bit different" or "I could use that sound somewhere". I was hoping the blade pickups might give a different tone, but I suppose it makes sense that they don't. Cropper is a big Tele guy and they went for that sound that I already know, love, and unfortunately have. Where do I go from here.... Thought I'd never have to choose..... oh sorry That's another Robert....
