Went to an open mic I used to host last night. The current host is a good friend, and I like to lend a hand. Anyway, this young lady came and we coaxed her into singing and playing. I even lent her my Tom Anderson Crowdster, for Pete's sake She did a great job, even though she was very shy about it. Afterward, I offered to have some of the pickers there come to my house for a little jam party. We ended up at her house instead as it was closer and had a great time. Simple tunes, played together, no pretense, no worries, no ego, just play the song acoustically and have a good time. I played the guitar, the djembe, the piano and the mandolin. Music, in my personal experience, is the only thing that gets people together like that, from different walks of life and horizons, to share something simple and enjoyable for the greater good. Tons of fun, can't wait to do it again, and now I have a new friend to boot. Can't beat that! So guys... if you're on the fence... GO OUT AND PLAY LIVE, ALREADY
