Just thought I would show you what I do to unwind. This is my home studio. I record new groups, mainly christan music. I also used it to record my old high school group . We made a cd that we gave to everyone. We also played live just for kicks. I use Sonar 8 for the software, Delta 10 10 for the interface, one tube pre amp for the mics, Mics are Shure beta 58,57 and NTA1.

Great setup Phil. I would get too confused with all of that equipment! Recording is not my thing right now. I use my DigiTech RP50 straight into Audacity when I do record, and that's about it. I get all nervous when I know I am recording myself, and I usually mess up big time, so I avoid the recording thing. Guitar is really a casual hobby for me (to unwind primarily), so I don't put to much emphasis on recording myself.

The best thing about recording yourself is that nobody else hears you unless you want to share. It is also a good practice tool. Record your self and then it play back and play along. Really helps. The really neat thing about home studios is that the sound quality can be very good with just the basics. I still get performance anxiety too. It always take a few tries before I can settle down.

Very nice set up. I am looking for a smaller tube amp for recording reasons. Any favorites?
