This is a pic of my bridge on my strat, it doesnt look right. Is this why it is failing to stay in tune?

No it shouldn't come off the body of the guitar that much - but it isn't a big deal - just a couple of adjustments
Either put another spring on the trem block or tighten the trem claw screws
The bridge should be almost parallel with the guitar.
If you don't use the trem adjust it so it is flat to the body by adding a trem spring or tightening up the claw screws or block it off
Loads of info on the net about this and it is dead easy to do

Surely this cant be a 2nd faulty strat I have??
Do you think I am best just getting a set up done to it?
Found a guitar teacher on gumtree that does set ups, he said he can do it for me tomorrow for a price of £30.
Hopefully that will resolve the problem

yep, you're just a set away from strat heaven. As stated there is a ton of info online on how to do it and it is very easy. Actually, fender.com has this info on their site. Regardless of diy or professionally done, that is all that is necessary to cure your ills.

Yet another reason not to own a Strat. Trems are just a pain.

Hey Guys
Yeah, strats can be a pain. But due to Happy Jack and his patient time with me, we managed to reset the bridge and action last night.
Bridge is now sitting a couple of mm off the body and the tuning is staying in place. (So Far)
Although the strats can be problematic I dont regret buying it, these problems can be resolved either by yourself (with the help of a friend haha) or you could take it to get professional done.
Many Thanks for your help Andy.
