Find a song with 3 chords you can play and work on that. It is always easier to play a song than just practice chords. Mojo has a great selection to choose from. Good luck and don't give up. Phil

I found it easier to try and play some tune I knew really well, that way you know already how the words fit the melody and it's also easier to sing along with your playing.
If you sing like me you want to try this in an empty house with the amp cranked all the way up to try and drown out awful noise No.1 with amplified awful noise No2......
Then again you might be a sweet singer with an acoustic guitar- in which case I envy you.

I am in my 50's always wanted to play guitar. I had several in home teachers.. only one actually taught music, chords, etc. After spending $50.00 an hour on a teacher I found that the best thing for me is this web site and the Learn and Master Guitar lessons. They have great lessons, learn at your own pace with top quality DVD's. I also place this site on their forum and many have appreciated the info and some frequent often. All I want to do is one day play like MOJO!
Oh, also tried the Hal Leonard Easy Pop Melodies with CD.. not bad. Good Luck

Welcome Columbo! This is a great site! The nice thing about it is that almost everbody is in the same boat as far as learning goes, and nobody will talk down to you because you are a beginner. Everyone here is eager to help each other out.

I couldn't agree more.
