Wrote a song about Brittany – la Bretagne – which is where I am from. The song came to me in minutes, and I decided to record it for now so that I don’t forget it. This is not a finished product…

Lyrics:
I come from a land with magical shores
Rich in history, legends and lore
Our land is rugged, our land is free
Call it what you want, Brittany’s still home to me
I come from a land of culture and song
When our cider is flowing, you can’t go wrong
So sit down and sing with your brothers my friend
We’ll tell our stories and never reach the end
The sea will feed us, the sea will take us
The seagulls will laugh all the way
The wind will send us gust after gust
Back home, through the storms and sea spray.
I come from a land where the bards sing of Truth
The keepers of our history, the bridge to our Youth
And the biniou and the bombarde will tell you our life
How we fought for our freedom at the blade of our knife
I come from a land pelted by the rain
Where my people work hard and welcome the pain
We’re vibrant as the wind, strong as the oak tree
Call it what you want, Brittany’s still home to me
The sea will feed us, the sea will take us
The seagulls will laugh all the way
The wind will send us gust after gust
Back home, through the storms and sea spray.
From the dolmens in Carnac to the end of the world
From the sea at La Torche where the winds are unfurled
We live simple lives made strong by the love
For the land of our ancestors that we’re so proud of
