Merry Christmas guys. I was blessed to have 15 family members for a few days during the holidays . Nothing like family members, no fights, a family sing along and the faces of the grand children. My daughter and I performed Mary Did You Know in Church, I just made one small error I forgot to put the capo on the 2 nd fret. Lucky for me my daughter has a really good voice and was able to get through on the lower range, and only we knew.

After many good intentions to have a Christmas jam with my bro, and never actually doing one, we had our first. It was lots of fun. I didn't know many of the tunes due to my blues leanings and most of the general mid 1900's pop / country so I was generally blundering behind my older brother trying to follow him. He was on bass and nylon acoustic, I brought my resonator (and should have used my amp with the elec strings, actually shoulda brought my G&L), and we had another rellie who came over who works in the mines in Aussie. He brought an Ashton 12 string. They both easily out volumed me so live and learn. Favourite moments were Robert Cray's - 'I Guess I showed her' that I couldn't stand not knowing properly so I recorded using the one shot ipod method Mojo described to me soundcloud.com/midnightchef/guess-i-showed-her-robert-crayHandy Man - unsurprisingly cos it was another song me and my bro both knew Crying.... Crying... Crrrryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyying.... lol I just followed, but we did alright My brother did a nice version of 'I just can't say goodbye'.... good enough that I now feel the need to learn it absolutely heart wrenching tho that song is, I did used to pinch my old mans hat so I feel a connection there. Hopefully it'll encourage some more collaborative efforts from us two.
