Tex, he is really good but can't get hold of much stuff over here. I have got That's The Truth and Legendary Jams and been looking around for some other stuff - although I have found Amazon are stocking some export CDs now[/quote]

Actually my Epiphone EM-1 is probably as light as my Thinline if not a little lighter, which is a little scary still thinking of putting P90's on that thing. Yeah balashazar true, it is more of "my selection of legos" rather than "custom legos made for me". But probably the closest I'll get to a custom guitar, and it is being ordered and made for me... ignoring some people maybe testing it I'll be the first player and it won't be sitting in a store for months getting played by everyone, dropped, scratched.... no no the shipping will bash the heck out of it for me Is it this one? The main features of the Epiphone EM1 include: Bad boy image with a high quality construction and sound that makes its appeal irresistible Honeycomb Balsa wood body Hard Maple 24-fret bolt-on neck, Speed Taper profile Rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays 1.68 inch nut width Two 700T/650R open coil humbucker pickups Chrome hardware Die-Cast Tuners Volume and tone controls with 3-way selector String-through body Tailpiece and Tune-o-matic Bridge

That's good news - another good idea is to record yourself playing the same song from every month or six weeks- you will be surprised how much improvement you have made - it is a great motivator

ha reminiscent of the Gibson story huh?? I pretty sure there's no problem with Ash and Maple. Course I'll probably have to get used to a heavier guitar again heh I've been spoilt with my thinline tele If the S-500 is anything like my G&L Legacy the hardware will weigh more than your Thinline ;D ;D They are built like tanks - you are gonna love it

The buttons you are referring to are for use with the pick up pre-amp and don't have anything to do with the tuner
Not all ISYS systems were fitted with tuners - from memory (when I was buying an electro a few years back) there was an Isys which was just a preamp with volume, contour and phase - one with a tuner and one with added bass, treble controls. I am pretty sure they are discontinued now. They were fitted to some Tanglewood and Cort guitars
The contour knob is a tone control that from memory is a pushes in / out to cancel out any tone and just gives you the guitar sound dry and out to allow you to change the tone by turning the conyour knob
The phase button is just a push button which prevents feedback at high volumes and increases bass at low volumes
If there is a tuner fitted it should have seperate button marked "tuner" which bypasses the preamp and will activate the tuner window
