Would that be the same gear you're going to gig with?

Top 3 discoveries? My "Aha" moments?
1. Realizing how AMAZINGLY important music theory is. Belive it or not, I prefer music theory to guitar technique. I like stuyding about it.
2. Discovering I lOVE listening to death metal, but I write progressive metal. Very different.
3. Accepting I will never be the most technical guitarist, but that I am still very good. Like the model who can't lose that last lb, but is still very thin, we can sometimes over-compare ourselves to others.

I guess what I'm saying is... It's not the first time the world has lost an industry. We shouldn't blame computers for putting people out of jobs, because they also create new new jobs as well. The same could be said about DJ's, and live musicians. Yes you can make money playing covers, but if it's your only source of income (as it was for many musicians), then you should diversify, learn other skills. Learn recording, teching, DJing, whatever. If you pigeonhole yourself, you'll wake up one day and be angry the world has passed you by.

I can't say that I hate it, cause it's really quite fun. From a business perspective it makes perfect sense. As a musician, I would hope you would become business minded and learn that everything changes and thus you need to learn a new skill (become a live karaoke band???), or just do it for fun, which is what COVER music is all about anyways.

Time to get rechargeables?? I record a few times a week, just me and my girl singing and playing, and my recorder eats batteries like you wouldn't believe. It sucks when I can't find a single set of charged batteries.

Too funny. I can't believe we have an entire thread dedicated to the performing female thumb placement on a microphone. Lol.

Just thought I'd share this with you.
Every week I try to listen to 2 new albums I've never heard before. I have to listen to the album from start to finish, and even if I'm not a fan of it, I have to listen to the album more than once. The idea is to not judge an artist by a single song, but rather by an album, which is much more fair. It also keeps me musically fresh and open.

Nice work. I don't play the banjo, but I'd really love to play the accordion and violin.
