At this point IMO the bassist we were really kinda high on isn't going to work out. Nothing musically is wrong at all but there are some things he needs to attend to that I would consider more important than playing in the band.
A really cool thing happened a day or so after we realized this. We met a very talented young guy that is really perfect for this situation. He plays about 6 instruments really well and has a great attitude. He's 20 years my junior but talking to him you find out he's kind of an old soul type of person. We are rehearsing with him on Sunday and honestly I'm more excited about this jam than the one before.
Thanks for asking Sir Les, I'll report back after Sunday.

Look at it as a new chapter in the evolution of your band. Things will work out for the better, they always do!

Sorry for the delay here.
The first guy was a great guy and great player but after a few days it just didn't feel right.
Last week we rehearsed with another guy (six string bassist) another great guy and great musician. This one was right.
New bassist is Albert Garcia. Woo Hoo!!!!!
I'm online buying a new PA system this week.
After delivery we're off and running.
thanks for the prayers guys.

We had a 5 stringer come along while we were doing our auditions. My god he was fantastic. Fast too, slap bass, would be lovely for solos. Really filled everything out. Singer didn't really like the guy I think tho, where he really likes the guy we eventually got. Helps that our bass player does homebrew and supplies the singer with alcohol My initial impression of him wasn't that good (didn't help he had crazy amounts of fret buzz and he hadn't played bass in ages) but he's come along.

Next very cool thing - New PA system was purchased last night.
Wayne at Sweetwater helped us put together a system within our budget and it's more than what we thought we could afford. They comp'd us stuff like crazy.
We ended up going with all powered stuff.
Yamaha MG32/24FX board Yamaha DSR 112 tops and DSR118w subs Mackie Thump12's for monitors All new Shure and Sennheiser mics.
