... by posting a link to an MP3, or video of a local-to-you musician/band that you dig. Only rules: 1. Can't be your band 2. It's gotta be a direct link to actual, listenable music 3. Please post a quick intro to the band w/ their location and their music style. I'll start with a rootsy, Americana band called Gunther Brown from Portland, Maine. The songs are mostly if not entirely written by the lead singer, Pete Dubuc. Disclaimer: yes, Pete's a buddy of mine, and yes I once was the lead guitar player for this band for a something like a month or two, but it was a while ago and I have no current "business interest" in the band. I'm just a fan of Pete's songwriting. Anyway, here's a tune: For you Massachusetts fine folks, Pete will be doing an acoustic show in Lowell, MA this Saturday. You can listen to Gunther Brown's tunes, for free, here: www.guntherbrown.com/music/All right, your turn!

Darren Watson - still one of my favourite local acts, and seriously needs more recognition. Very Robert Cray like in guitar style, but mixes it up on other songs.
