I'd be very interested in a short lesson on your finger strumming technique - I just can't seem to get a decent tone...

Strumming is one of the most difficult things to teach I think - for me, anyway. But I'd love to do such a video. Thanks for the request! by the way, I published a video last night on how to play Learning to Fly where I spent some time on the topic of strumming. Did you see it? great - at the office right now but will check it out when i get home ! a lot of the guitarists i like play with their fingers instead of a pick so i'd like to learn the strumming part am particularly fond of mark knopfler so i better learn fingerstyle thx for lessons, much appreciated - even in wild Africa T

hi, had a look at the video but you're using finger picks there - not quite the same...i'd love to get an idea on "fingers only"
started looking at a "play like MK" book in french and he tries to explain the finger strumming but it's all text and my french is poor, though sufficient to read the instruction - guess i learn better by visuals...

I use finger picks, but my technique, such as it is, was developed with bare fingers and has not changed a bit. I only use the picks when my nails are in bad shape from "over playing". I would play it exactly the same way if I didn't have the picks on
