Rory Gallagher is a hero of mine - very underrated his early stuff is awesome. A mixture of Celtic / Irish traditional music, Folk, Blues and Rock. No one did it quite like Rory. Rayden44 you are right and unfortunately "Too Much Alcohol" was known well by Rory So if you only like music by dead people you need to speak to Lesblues. Lots of really good young blues players out there but unfortunately fashion and fad is against them Oh and welcome to the forum ;D

Rory is fantastic, yeah didn't intend the unfortunate pun of posting "too much alcohol", but it's a wicked slide song that I always enjoy from him. Rory stayed pretty true to what he was doing - and is generally only known by guitarists which is a shame. We have Bad Penny in our set list, looking to add others later. Rant warning The younger guys not only have to deal with fad being against them, but also blues purists who want everything to be played like the old days. Then if you play like that you're 'copying' and they don't like that either. A surprising number of muso's I've met won't play SRV / Clapton on principle as they're not 'real blues', but then will regard say Gary Moore as blues? Feh it's all too narrow minded in my opinion. Ok rant over.
