Hi guys, After finishing my tele construction and playing it for over a month it is time to have neck fine tuned beyond my ability. I have talked about my luthier Tom before. I have gotten spoiled with the feel of his necks when he is done. He called me and there were a about 4 things that needed a little work. He did like the earvona nut that I put in the neck. I will report all the things he did and then I will do the sound check and record everything so you guys can hear what this boy sounds like.

Well the tele is back. As good as I thought I had put it together and set it up, Tom did quite a bit of tweeking, he said I was close on everything. He has all of the toys that he puts on the neck for angles sting height and fret heights. With his micrometers he was able to get everything perfect and to my surprise, I could tell the difference. He did like the Earvona nut that I used, he adjusted the string height and it has that same feel that I have become use to. He said the harmonics up and down the neck are perfect. He had some question about the wiring of pick ups and said he had never seen that kind of set up before. He did comment on the sounds and versatility of the different pick up configuration and liked it a lot. SO I am Happy NOW!!! ;D ;D ;D Sound check this week some time. Have to figure which song to play to demonstrate it.

Here is a quick review of the tele I made. This is a high a high end Tele, my first Tele. The neck is just a thing of beauty. Very highly figured birds eye maple neck. The pick ups are from Torries industry and have three normal tele configuration and the next two are make the pickup into Humbuckers. Makes this a very versatile guitar with the original charm of a standard Tele. The body came finished with a nitrocellulose finish with a flame maple front and Ash Body. The tuners are 1960's new original stock fender. A guy who worked for fender back in the day found a box of old Fender parts in his garage. Final cost was just over $700. The neck was rough finished and I did the fret work and put 11 coats of satin Nitro on it. Many hours of work doing it. I had a lot of fun and was fairly easy to do. When compared to an American Standard Tele, this one is much nicer.

Thanks guys, after the subtle changes that were made by my guitar guy Tom, I still have some things to learn, maybe I need better toys to set a guitar up.
