doing cords have not been to hard..well some of the have but i have no speed at all..lol thats where my trouble is right now trying to get from cord to cord. i have been playing around with some ac/dc,a simple sort of bon-jovi song and some skynard..i wish i could set down and learn one from start to finsh but i find myself going to something else or just doing different strum patterns with cords i know. my wife was able to realize that i was trying a bon-jovi song which was cool she could kind of tell what i was doing.

Hi, and welcome. Of course you will find that I am really the newer guy.....not that it matters. I have been playing for about a year, but have many challenges with practicing and learning. In the last week I have learned a couple of songs from Mojo and plan on being on this site quite a bit. Keep practicing and you will get rewards, but don't be surprised if it seems to take a while. Hi all, I'm new here too having just joined. I have been playing a little now for about 6 months or so and fortunately have turned he corner with the 'sore fingers sydrome'!
My guitar is a Yamaha APX 500 and it seems like a nice instrument. I'm knocking out a few tunes but progress is pretty slow and frustrating too, that said, I suppose all guitarists go through that stage and I suppose also it depends on how much one is prepared to practise.
I'm trying to learn 'Blackbird' at the moment and am just starting out, wish me luck. Great message board and the vids on youtube by Mojo are fantastice, good on yer buddy :-)

Welcome to the forum!! There are some pretty great folks around here so stop by often. And don't worry about the difficulty. Just keep going and it will get easier.

Thanks very much guys for a friendly, warm welcome. There'll be a lot to explore on this board I'm sure and looking forward too it. By the way, learnt the first verse on Blackbird and just need to practise more and speed it up a little now. What a beautiful tune :-)
