Wully and Woodensaint: I wish I could say the same about the weather around here. It is sunny, but too windy to do stuff outside.

GETTING OVER GAS!!!! Ha!!! As if.................. Congrats on finding temporary happiness though. I love to tinker with my gear too. If you're looking for a good deal on stuff, the Tele I picked up is a CIJ and I love it. Sounds phenomenally twangy in all the right ways. Looks great. There are a few things I'm going to change later on but overall it's a killer. I'm a big fan of the Japanese made Fenders. I heard tell that even the Japanese made Squiers are well worth a look. Anyone here have an opinion on them?

I've heard alot of good things about some of the recent Squier releases but unfortunetly I have a prejudice issue with this type of instrument. For so many years I've thought of them as unworthy Fender clones to be left to beginners. You have no idea how long it took me to get used to the idea of a Japanese Telecaster. But all things considered, it appears that my issues are unfounded.

A lot of people really rate the Japanese made Fenders and the Squiers. The squiers fetch quite a premium here in the UK. But like you I had a bit of an attitude problem with them.
