The River By Bruce Springsteen. It was probably the first song I knew well enough to attempt to play and it used the only chords I knew.

Compliments to Mojo himself, my first song was George Strait's Easy Come, Easy Go. I have only been playing for a couple of months. I am 33 and have never played any instrument before. I thought I might be too old to learn. Thanks Mojo!

The first song that I learned to play (that I still remember), was 'La Bamba', al la Richie Valens. I was in Junior High School, taking a guitar class, and that was one of the first songs I was taught. I must have been 13 at the time. Like Urs said, I should be an awesomely accomplished guitarist by now, but I never took playing seriously until 2007 (and even now, it's not that serious). I have to practice MORE and EVERYDAY!!!

Show Me the Way by Peter Frampton. I was a hit at the time.

The first song I successfully learned to play on my guitar was "Help me make it through the night", learnt from Mojo's guide on Youtube.
Strumming version, not arpeggio.
The first song I learned from chords on the net was Kristofferson "The Silver Tongued Devil and Me".

Probably Knockin On Heaven's Door, first song playing and singing was Cat Stevens - First cut is the deepest.
