not that hard at all. minor soldering skills needed, and a little patience. most pup companies send instructions with their products so it takes the guess work out. looks like the yamaha is similar to a standard tele setup. mstr vol, mstr tone, and a three way selector switch. although it appears that access to your pots is from the back of the body and a standard tele is from the top. go for it man!!!

That looks really sweet Yannick.
The Yamaha 302 has a good reputation for wood, playablity and tone from what I have seen and read (as with most Yamahas) but a poor reputation for electronics.
I would replace everything pots. pickups, switch. As Roadking says it isn't partcularly hard just need to be able to solder and follow a wiring diagram. Most will come with a wiring diagram - I know Seymour Duncan have loads of stuff on their site
I would also have look at all the different makes of pick ups available. In the UK we have a company called Bareknuckle that have a fantastic reputation
You can also buy prewired sets with pots and switch from some suppliers not sure if you can get Fender like this
Be a really nice guitar for not a lot of money

That's nice one Yannick! You're a braver man than I am! I know my Tele needs at least a capacitor change and a better neck pickup wouldn't hurt either, but I'm to chicken to open the thing up myself and mess it up more. I'm not good at soldering at all, so either I have to practice or wait until I come into some money and have someone do this stuff for me (yeah, I know, it's like throwing money away, but I am REALLY NOT mechanically or electronically inclined!).

Lol same here, i suck at electronics, so I guess I am gonna buy the pickups etc and go to someone who puts it in for lik 40 euro (46 something dollar) then I am sure I don't mess it up

Happy Jack is spot on about the Bare Knuckles. I'm running a set of Mother's Milk from Bare Knuckles in my Strat. I'm very pleased with them. I also installed a Fat O Caster switch that allows for more pickup combination options and some series and parallel options also. HJ, the last cut I sent you was done with that Strat. Yannick...Good luck with your project, I agree with HJ also in that you should go ahead and replace the rest of the guts too. Again, not really hard at all, pretty cheap pieces and makes quite a difference in the tone.
