just came upon site today by way of seeing mojo on u tube. Have a '74 strat, Ibenez artcore and i just bought a new gibson trad. pro les paul goldtop. they are making it right now at the factory and it will take a few months till i get it. fell in love with the thin neck and the push pull volume knobs.not too crazy about the zebra pickups but i could allways change those.Always was a strat guy, just love the blues and singlecoil pickups, but this les paul lets you turn humbuckers into that telecaster sound.Really amazing. Have you guys seen "it might get loud". BEST MOVIE EVER !!!! ( sorry if it's already been discused here). If you haven't seen it see it NOW. OK i talked long enough got to get back to playing my strat.

Hey, welcome to the forum and congrats on the Gibson.
Seen the movie yesterday and just deepened my hatred of Edge. Jack White was inspiring though, true to musical roots.

Welcome to the forum Basementrocker
I thought It Might Get Loud was great but do tend to agree with Kev. Congrats on your new guitar - bet you can't wait - I had to wait 10 weeks for my custom build and that was long enough

hey kevina why do you hate the edge? you got to admit he's written some great songs and some great guitar riffs. I agree out of the 3 of them he doesn't fit. Page and White are out of the same mold, just love the guitar in it's purest form, while the edge is more modern, more into technology. I just wished one of them asked Page about his #1 les paul, would of loved to hear how he got it from joe walsh and if it influenced his writing great songs.

But if you watch the movie Edge plays a riffs and then plays it natural and its nothing special.
I prefer songs that you recreate on an acoustic guitar or with as little effort as possible. Im not one for tens of effects.
I was expecting more chat about the guitars they are known for.
I love White's custom Gretsch though, apart from the mic but very unique.
