I"m sorry and I know this is just my opinion but......if it didn't get there honestly then it's just plain stupid. Tearing up the face of a guitar to simulate playing wear is like kicking a dent in your car and cranking up the odometer. I will however concede to "relic'ing" that enhances the feel of a neck. It might be ugly but if it serves a purpose then I understand.' This is my Robin Strat that I played back in the 80s. This is honest wear and tear from spiked belts and wrist bands and 1000s of songs and many many miles. She's an ugly beast ain't she?

It is a load of B*ll*cks
I am just in the process of buying a new car -
so I ask the salesman
Can I have one that has a few dints?
A couple of scratches please?
Throw some mud a hound hair in the trunk?
And the imprint of a pair of 224 pound buttocks in the drivers seat please?
I agree with RK - fair wear yes but false wear no!

Never understood the concept. I like my guitars looking new (especially if they are new). This member at another forum put together a relic'ed tele that looks awesome, but he made it to look antique IMO, not beaten up!

5G's to "age" the thing? For that you can get a really nice old Martin and have the real deal. From all the new gear I've seen from Gibson, I think they've been taken over by a bunch of MBA's and forced all the musicians out. Kinda a shame.
