Tift Merritt - Another Country. Singer songwriter from North Carolina, compared favourably with Emmylou Harris, Carole King and Sheryl Crowe. She is currently supporting Greg Allman on tour.
HJ, she's not dead but not really the Blues either!

Matt Schofield for me too
He has a new album out "Anything But Time" and it is as good as anything he has done - more bluesy then usual but pretty much what we would expect off Matt
Very talented but unfortunately blues music isn't that popular in the UK so he will be playing live to a handful of people while some talentless t**t on who was discovered on "Britain's Got T**ts" Sorry I meant "Britain's Got Talent" will be all over the media.
He also plays with the Ian Siegal Band quite frequently - could be Les and Jacks third adventure!
Can't find any material off this new album so you will have to listen to this

very clapton esq lots of triplets used Hmmm more Robben Ford then Eric Clapton I reckon Matt's stuff can be very jazzy - in fact his early albums were very jazzy blues. He is worth a listen to - so is Robben Ford for that matter

Have a listen to Kyla Brox - daughter of Victor Brox who is a highly respected (if completely unheard of!) blues player. He was a member of The Aynsley Dunbar Retaliation and has played with loads of people Clapton, Korner, Mayall et al. Often referred to as Manchester Blues Legend!
Kyla Brox was also born in my home town of Stockport!
She is souly / bluesy / jazzy
