I could not agree more. Clean fat tones are hard to get just right and that is a area that is a weak point of the lower end Line six stuff, they always sounded a little thin to me . Humbuckers rich it up a bit but for us fender fans it is a problem. The vetta's have a much better tone. If I can just remember which button to push!

I did like that about the spider 4 with the shortboard. easy access to 4 tones you could setup at the press of a single button with whatever fx you wanted. But you can sit there for HOURS messing with it, and I did heh. I eventually did the PC USB connection thing and arranged the fx I wanted that way, the Spider software was pretty easy to get to grips with. Plus I used the add-on pedal for volume so had the other one for wah. It was a really nice in terms of setup, just lacked that sound so I gave up and sold it for my Mesa in the end. I know very few humbucker guitars I like the sound of. They're very middle-y toned and nice for distortion cos of the extra output. I use mine for Gary Moore stuff and sometimes on Cream songs if I feel that way inclined. But for most of our songs it's not the right sound so I'm usually grabbing the Tele heh
