Hi all, just go back from the Guitar Center they had just taken in a Line 6 Vetta 2 in on trade and I have always wanted one. I have had a flextone lll xl for several years and really liked it. 2 - 12in speakers 150 watts. The Vetta is /was their top amp when it came out. the top amp models and all the bell and whistles that are available in the Liine 6 line . As you have heard me say I am a fan of the top Line 6 equipment and not very excited about their cheep stuff. Well you know where this is going. for a little more money I came home with this beauty. From the looks of it , it has one of everything on it every effect know to man and a huge selection of stomp boxes and more buttons and knobs than a man should have. Let the fun begin. ;D

Look forward to some sounds. I've always been pretty disappointed with Line 6 stuff to be honest. Tho like you say I don't get the high end stuff so maybe that's the problem Guess I should probably buy the low spec of their good range rather than the high spec of the bottom range lol. The 2x12 Laney tube amp I had was too heavy to lug around, and too loud for home use so I ended up selling it, but was a brilliant sounding amp. I still have a 4x 12 that may come in handy later

Lady Ann and I met our son Michael's girlfriend for the first time and we got to chatting about guitars and stuff (as you do). I mentioned that I had been very fortunate as Lady Ann had just bought me the guitar of my dreams for my birthday. However this meant that any notion to buy another guitar would be seriously frowned upon. Sauri ( Mike's girlfriend) said " if you can't buy another guitar you can always accessorise". I think Michael should hang on to this girl. Especially as he has only recently taken up the guitar too!

No Kidding!!! When she gets through with Phil's wife send her down here.
congrats on the Vetta Phil. I heard one several years ago and always thought that if I went modeling that would be the way to go.
Enjoy!!!

This is my policy with the missus when it comes to guitar stuff and what it cost; Don't ask me no questions darling, I won't tell you no lies but then there's these things like shoes, books, clothes and handbags that I don't ask too much about either

Thought you guys might like a quick picture of my new toy. I have just started messing around with it, one word very loud, 2 - 12 in speakers. 2 built in amps can run at the same time. 45 different Amp Models, 28 different cabinet models, 30 stomp boxes and effects. All a little over whelming at the start. Sound, a little clearer than my old Flextone lll and a lot more options. Had to put wheels on it, it is just too big to be lifting around. If you can't find the sound you are looking for , you just have not pressed the right button or turned the right knob yet. The one thing I really like is a wet XLR out put that can be plugged directly into your PA. and the vetta can control the XLR and turn the amp into your own personal guitar monitor. I am a big believer in running every thing through the PA to get the best balanced sound out front. Not as pretty as a Marshal stack but a lot easier to transport. I'll post a sound check in a few weeks, once I learn that 3 rd chord better .

That looks pretty cool, probably a bit to techie for a technophobe like me though. Should certainly keep you out of mischief, for a while anyway.

I find that some l Scotch help curve the techno tremor that starts when you look at soooooo many buttons and knobs. ;D

Ha Les I've never been quite that brave which reminds me I was going to cover Guilty. I was thinking of saving it for my S-500 when it arrives, but I might use it as an excuse to show the Fender G-Dec Junior. Doesn't have quite the control over effects of the Vox DA5, but it's still a good sound. The rhythm pieces are a little uninspired (aside from the basic blues one called Chicago and I think 2 of the others there's no chord progression) but with the midi throughput you can pipe your own backing tracks in there. I couldn't be bothered putting my Sound Blaster Live Drive back into my PC, since about half the things on the Live Drive don't work anymore! So I don't have the capability to MIDI output off my PC yet. Probably get myself a USB -> MIDI adaptor soon. Eh I could always run it off my old Yamaha PSR-500 Keyboard Phil that looks awesome, need to hear some sounds buddy Looks like DT-50 is their new flagship line.... we haven't got them yet, but I'll wander in for a try when they do....

Tried the DT 50 the other day when I was waiting for the trade, 1/2 tube 1/2 digital has some of the best of both worlds, the Bogner tube amp side was very very nice. the digital amp was typical high end Line 6 and was pretty good. If they had combined the Vetta with the all the amp models and Bells and wistles and put it with the Bogner they would have a really full servace amp.

I'm often reminded of Scotty from Star Trek 3... The more complicated they make the plumbing, the easier it is to stop up the drain The only real issue I had with the Spider IV was it had no fat clean tone... to be clear that's a BIG problem for my horrible playing. But it had lots of other sounds to play with. But as phil said the regular spiders are the cheap stuff. Maybe I'll have a look around used and see if I can find something interesting in line 6 again. Damn GAS I've heard lots of people raving about their latest floorboard offerings. For me at the moment tho, it's a matter of shaking some of the noise out of my rig, then making it a little easier to transport.
