So, here's another 'Hello!' 35, german expat living in denmark. I found threechordsguitar about a year ago, some time after I had pulled out that oldold terrible no-name strat from my parents' attic. An utter piece of crap, but somehow - well, I bought an amp and.. it brought back the joy of playing guitar! And made me pick up my acoustic Ibanez more than just "on and off" again And now, that is: as of yesterday, I am proud owner of a "real" one Probably does not quite match up to the standards set around here (sidenote: !!!), but I can safely state: I have the sun shining right out of my a## Supernice, btw, to discover that this forum, which got closed right about the time where I tried to sign up, is back!

Hi guys,
I like to introduce myself here on this form and hoping that i can learn some tricks and things.
My name is Danny and i am 41years. I started playing just a couple of month ago, because my oldest wanted a guitar for his birthday. In the end we started fighting for the guitar (since he is 8 i lost most of the fights) and ended up buying my own. I came here thru youtube and learned some songs from mojo's videos and because i am such a bad player i hope to find some for tunes and answers here.
Sorry for my bad englisch its because i am from Belgium. Anyways all the best and losts of suneshines

They are great guitars, good build quality and sound brilliant. Mine was made in Korea in the 90s, where was yours made? You might be interested to know if you don't already that there is a forum dedicated to Tokais, just google Tokai forum. Oh and welcome to the forum.

Hey Mojo- I had always loved tele's yet was tired of single-coil noise/hum, so my search lead me to TV Jones Filtertrons as bright, clear yet humbucking pickups...I stumbled upon your review of the Melancon Cajun CG, sealed the conceptual deal for me but I decided to have a local woodworked build & finish me a 1/2" maple cap over poplar for light/bright qualities... clear orange dye gets pretty close to Gretsch orange for me! The Classic Plus bridge pickup growls, regular Classic in neck gets airy Mark Knopfler "Shangri-La" tones... I may add a B5, still deciding. Found a Warmoth v-neck last summer on Ebay, guy used cell-phone pics so nobody bid on it- I got it with Sperzels for $125 :-) Thanks for the online lessons too! Cheers, Alex

Hi lesblues, made in China (is the new Korea). This is a tiny bit of concern: the only bit of information is a sticker that says Made in China. No sr# or anything. However, any concern is washed away by that nice tone and feel I'm really happy with it. The thing above I wouldn't mind having, too. Soft spot here for this sort of vertically aligned wood texture...

As for your soft spot for other guitars, we all suffer from GAS. Glad you like your Tokai I was wondering what the quality of the Chinese ones was like and you have answered that question. To fuel your gas you should really check out the Tokai Forum and read what the guys there think of their Japanese made Tokais :-)

;D
lespaulblues... you might want to consider a name change. the freudian slip is apparently too inviting! (booker: guess what I edited in my comment above;)
(Dead or Alive: the little bits around the D-chord at 6:33? When Mojo says "you lift it up", the pinky and the infamous Johnny Cash finger (left hand), you actually pull them off sort of sideways, so the string gets plucked)

Correct URS,
That section, between the fisrt strike down in D till the picking part.
